5Trophic Feedingfeeding minute volumes of enteral feeds in order to stimulate the development of the immature gastrointestinal tract
6MonitoringCheck for refeeding
• BGLs – hourly when first started then 4 hourly
• Triglycerides
• LFT’s – aminases
• Respiratory problems incl. difficulty weaning
• Fluid balance
• For longer-term PN (ie home PN will need to
monitor micronutrients)
