Flashcards
Typical joint structure

Flashcards do conjunto (7)
- 1—What is #7 and what is the function or what it does ?
Synovial fluid; to reduce friction between the articular cartilage of synovial joints during movement
- 2—What is #3 and what is the function or what it does ?
Meniscus; made of fibrocartilage which is a really tough tissue; it absorbs so it acts as a pad; it cushions; it also adds stability to the joint
- 3—What is # 2 and what is the function or what it does ?
Joint cavity; the joint cavity is filled with synovial fluid. The synovial fluid provides nutrition and lubrication to the articular cartilage that covers the ends of the articulating bones
- 4—What is #5 and what is the function or what it does ?
Bursa or Bursae; these are sacs that cushion and contains synovial fluid it also reduces friction
- 5—What is #6 and what is it's function?
Joint capsule ;the joint capsule surrounds everything and protects all
- 6—What is #4 and what is the function?
synovial membrane; The synovial membrane makes synovial fluid, which has a lubricating function.
- 7—What is #1 and what is the function?
Articular cartilage; it is made of hyaline( which is a tough cartilage) it is used to reduce friction
