- 1What are the characteristics of RFWavelength
Frequency
Amplitude
Phase - 2What is a wavelengthDistance between two successive crests or troughs
Distance a single RF signal cycle travels - 3Wavelength formulasWavelength = 11.811/frequency
- 4What is frequencyNumber of times a specified event occurs within a specified time interval
- 5RF BehaviorsAbsorption

FSPL
Multipath
Gain - 6What is reflectionWave hitting a smooth surface larger than the wave and bounces in another direction
- 7What is scatteringMultiple reflections
- 8What is refractionSignal that is bent
Occurs when RF passes through a medium with a different density - 9What is diffractionWhen RF bends around an object
- 10What is FSPLFree Space Path Loss
Loss of signal strength caused by natural broadening of waves - 11What is multipathResults in two or more paths of a signal arriving at the receiving antenna
- 12What is delay spreadPart of multipath
Time differential between multiple paths - 13What is upfadePossible result of multipath
Increased signal strength when multiple RF signals arrive at the same time and in phase - 14What is downfadeA possible result of multipath
Decreased signal strength when multiple RF signals arrive at the receiver at the same time out of phase with the primary wave - 15What is nullingPossible result of multipath
When RF signal arrives at receiver at the same time and are 180 degrees out of phase with the primary wave thus causing signal cancellation - 16What is data corruptionPossible result of multipath
When receiver has problems demodulating the RF signal - 17What is gainIncrease of amplitude
Can be active or passive
