- 1Bus TopologyA bus topology is a single/cable with a start and end terminator. A printer and other peripheral devices cane be connected on the same line.
- 2Bus Topology AdvantagesAdvantages
1. Easy to install
2. Easy to add extra workstations
3. Uses less cable than a Star network.
4. Best choice for temporary network. - 3Disadvantages1. If there is a problem with the central cable, the entire network stops working.
2. If there are a lot of workstations on the network, data can travel slowly.
3. Data collisions can happen as the network becomes busy.
4. Low security- every workstation can see all of the data in the network.
5. Limited cable length and a maximum of workstations. - 4Ring TopologyA ring topology is when computers are structured is a ring/circle. All computers are connected on a single cable which interlinks all computers together.
- 5Star topologyA star topology is when a group of computers are connected to a central hub or server. Each computer must have their owner separate cable to connect to the hub or server.
