- 9Fillersis a sound or word that is spoken in conversation by one participant to signal to others that he/she has paused to think but has not yet finished speaking (umm, er, uhh)

I will = I'll - 11Slanga type of language consisting of words and phrases that are regarded as very informal, are more common in speech than writing, and are typically restricted to a particular context or group of people.
- 12InterjectionsIn grammar, an interjection or exclamation is a word used to express a particular emotion or sentiment on the part of the speaker. Conventions like Hi!, Bye! and Goodbye! are interjections, as are exclamations like Cheers! and Hooray!.
- 13Discourse MarkersDiscourse markers are words or phrases like anyway, right, okay, as I say, to begin with. We use them to connect, organise and manage what we say or write or to express attitude: [friends are talking] A: So, I've decided I'm going to go to the bank and ask for a car loan.
- 14Non-Fluency featuresrepetition, pauses, hesitation, stuttering, fillers, false starts
- 15Turn Takingthere may be interruptions, overlaps, increases in speed and volume or pauses
- 16Echoesmay be used to show agreement and approval.
- 17Utterancesmay become convoluted and lengthy, with sections incomplete.
- 18Pausesmay be used as aural punctuation marks
- 19Ellipsiswhen words are missing so the speech is not grammatically correct
- 20Phatic Talkdenoting speech used to express or create an atmosphere of shared feelings, goodwill, or sociability rather than to impart information (small talk)
- 21DeixisWords like: 'this', 'there' or 'here' like verbal pointing
- 22DialectWords or language specific to a region.
