Flashcards do conjunto (13)
- 1Categorizing triangles based on side lengthsIsosceles: A triangle that has two sides with the same length.
Equilateral: A triangle that sides are all the same length.
Scalene: A triangle whose sides are all different lengths. - 2Categorizing triangles based on angle measurements *acute: less than 90 degrees *obtuse: more than 90 degrees *right: 90 degreesAcute Triangle: A triangle with 3 acute angles.
Obtuse Triangle: A triangle with 1 obtuse angle (and 2 acute angles).
Right Triangle: A triangle with 1 right angle (and 2 acute angles)
Equilateral Triangle: A triangle with all the same angle. - 3How to find the sum of interior angles of a triangle*The sum of the measures of the interior angles of any triangle is 180 degrees*

- 5SAS (side, angle, side)If 2 sides & the included angle of triangle A are equal to the corresponding sides and angle of triangle B, the triangles are congruent. However, the angle must be between the 2 congruent sides.
- 6SSS (side x3)f 3 sides of triangle A are equal to 3 sides of triangle B, the triangles are congruent.
- 7ASA (angle, side, angle)If 2 angles & the included side of triangle A are equal to the corresponding angles and side of triangle B, the triangles are congruent.
- 8*Right triangle exception*If the hypotenuse and 1 leg of right-triangle A are equal to the corresponding hypotenuse and leg of right-triangle B, the 2 triangles are congruent.
- 9AASAAS stands for "angle, angle, side" and means that we have 2 triangles where we know 2 angles and the non-included side are equal. If 2 angles and the non-included side of triangle A are equal to the corresponding angles and side of triangle B, the triangles are congruent.
- 10Base Angles are Congruent (Isosceles Triangle)If two sides of a triangle are congruent, the angles opposite them are congruent. If two angles of a triangle are congruent, the sides opposite them are congruent.
- 11Exterior Angle Theorem of triangles. The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle is greater than either of its two non-adjacent interior angles.
- 12Triangle Mid segment TheoremThe mid-segment of a triangle is parallel to the third side of the triangle.
- 13"Side Splitter" Theorem"Side Splitter" Theorem says that if a line intersects two sides of a triangle and is parallel to the third side of the triangle, it divides those two sides proportionally.
