Conteúdo do fluxograma

  1. Antipsychotics

  2. First Generation

  3. Second Generation

  4. General Information

  5. Also known as Typical: Mostly blocks Dopamine Receptors (D2)

  6. Also known as Atypicals

  7. Blocks Dopamine and Seretonin Receptors (D2 and 5HT2A)

  8. Reudce halucinations and delusions associated with Schizofrenia

  9. Neurological Side Effects

  10. Most 2nd Gen Meds can help with negative symtpoms (Ex. Clozapina)

  11. D2 Blockers are not seletive, therefore they generate side effects

  12. Mesocortical Pathway

  13. Nigrostriatal Pathway

  14. Tuberoinfundibular Pathway

  15. Achieved by blocking D2 in the Mesolimbic Pathway

  16. Negative Symptoms & Executive Functioning Deficits

  17. Extrapyrimidal side effects

  18. Increased Prolactin

  19. Metabolic Side Effects

  20. Major Adverse Effects of receptor blockades

  21. D2 dopamine: Extrapyramidal Symptoms; Prolactin Increase

  22. Alfa 1 norepinephrine: Postural Hypotension

  23. H1 histamine: Sedation/drowsiness; weight gain

  24. M1 muscarinic ACh: Memory deficits;

  25. 5HT(1B;2C) serotonin: weight gain

  26. Similar Efficacy

    Difference in Potency

  27. Pharmacokinetics

  28. Lipid soluble

  29. 20-40 hour half life

  30. Some metabolites can persist for months of stopping Rx

  31. High Potency

  32. Low Potency

  33. Low or High Potency:

This refers to a Rx affinity for D2 receptors. Influences adverse efects

  34. Haloperidol-Haldol

  35. Thiordazine

  36. Chlopromazine

  37. Perphenazine-Trilafon

  38. Pimozide-ORAP

  39. Fluphenazine

  40. Loxapine

  41. Prochlorperazine-COMPRO/PROCOMP

  42. Will cause sedation

    More Anticolinergic, antiadrenergic and antihistaminic

  43. Less extrapyramidal effects

  44. Less Anticolinergic, antiadrenergic and antihistaminic

  45. Less affinity for D2

  46. More affinity for D2

  47. More extrapyramidal effects

  48. Antipsychotic Overdose: Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome

  49. -High Fever (102 to 104 F)

    -Muscle stiffness

    -Sweating a lot

-Anxiety or other changes in mental state

    -Fast or abnormal heartbeat

    -Quick breathing

NMS can damage muscles and cause very high or low blood pressure. If you’re not treated, you can get serious problems, like:

    -Kidney failure

    -Heart and lung failure

-Lack of oxygen in the body

-Infection in the lungs caused by breathing in fluid (aspiration pneumonia)

    More acid in the body

  50. Pine

  51. Done

  52. Pip

  57. Ziprasidone-Geodon

  58. Risperidone-Risperdal

  59. Lurasidone-Latuda

  60. Aripiprazole-Abilify

  61. Increases flow of DA in the nigrostriatal pathway

  62. Diabetes, Hypercholesterolemia, weight gain and cardiac effects

  63. Less likely extrapyramidal effects

  64. This is done by allowing more DA in the PFC

  65. Tx: Aggression and Violence

  66. Tx at different dosages using XR: (High), antidepressant (medium), hypnotic (low)

  67. D2, 5HT2C, Alpha-1, H1

  68. Sedation: High; Weight Gain: High;

    EPS: Low

  69. Warning: Can supress bone marrow, cause convulsions and orthostatic hypotension

  70. Tx: Psychosis from 13 y/o and up

  71. High Dosage XR: Antipsychotic

    H1, 5HT2A, D2

  72. Medium Dosage XR: Antidepressant Agonist: 5HT1A; Antagonist: 5HT7, Alpha-2, 5HT!B

  73. Sedaion: Very High; Weight Gain: High: EPS: Low

  74. Warning: orthostatic hypotension, increase in triglycerides and resistance to insuline

  75. D2, 5HT2A, 5HT2C, H1, M3

  76. Sedation: High; Weight Gain: Very High; EPS: High
