              3. Discovered some of Galen's teachings were wrong
                1. Proved the Septum had no holes
                  1. Proved that for Monkeys and Pigs - Galen was right - have 2 lower jaw bones
                    1. BUT - proved Galen wrong- humans only have 1 lower jaw bone!
                    2. Showed that liver has no lobes
                      1. Showed Sternum only had 3 parts instead of 7
                    3. Harvey
                      1. Interested in circulation of blood
                        1. Worked out through experiment/observation
                          1. Veins only carry blood rather than mix of blood and air
                            1. Proved Galen wrong
                            2. Blood is NOT constantly manufactured by liver
                              1. Blood is NOT used up as it moves around body
