How seismometers work?
  1. 1). Seismometer readings (seismograms) can be used to work out the location of an earthquake
    1. 2). P-waves travel faster than S-waves
      1. 3). Using the time difference between the two waves, you can calculate how far way the earthquake was.
        1. 4). Then you draw a circle on a map with the location of your seismometer at the centre
          1. 5). The edge of the cirlce shows all the possbile places that the earthquake could have happened
            1. Where all the cirlces cross, that is where the earthquake happened
