    1. Is aphantasia real or is it just people describing mental images differently?
      1. Answer: Aphantasia is real.
        1. Evidence: Someone could picture images before a brain injury, then after, they couldn't. That's not two people describing it differently.
              1. Evidence: A test was done to see which parts of the brain were most active when trying to make mental images with non-aphantasiacs and people that thought they had aphantasia. Different parts of the brain were more active for the people with aphantasia.
                                1. Do people that don't have aphantasia accidentally think that they do?
                                  1. Answer: It's possible that someone has.
                                2. What is it?
                                  1. Aphantasia is a condition where someone can't see mental images in their head and they just see all black. This is also known as being "blind in your mind's eye."
                                                      1. Niel Kenmuir from Lancaster has had aphantasia all of his life. He considers it more of a different way of living than a disability
                                                      2. How Common?
                                                        1. About 1-3% of the population have it.
                                                            1. Statements
                                                              1. I believe that aphantasia shouldn't be something that hugely impacts your life.
