1. There are several ways of collecting the appropriate data:

   • 1.- By observation
     • It’s investigator’s own observation
     • It is an expensive method
     • the information is very limited.
   • 2.- Through personal interview
     • The investigator follows a rigid procedure
     • A set of pre-conceived questions
     • Is usually carried out in a structured
   • 3.- Through telephone interviews
     • Is usually carried out in a structured
   • 4.- By mailing of questionnaires
     • Questionnaires are mailed to the respondents
     • A pilot study is usually done
     • Gathering relevant information.
   • 5.- Through schedules
     • The enumerators are appointed and given training.
     • They are provided with schedules containing relevant questions.
