1. insider attack

   • an insider attack is when someone that you trust or that is close to you hacks into your computer

2. active attack

   • this is when someone attacks a network with malware or other planned attacks but these are easily detected
     • to prevent this you can get a firewall

   • a passive attack is where someone monitors data travelling on a network and intercepts any sensitive information they find. they use network monitoring hardware and software such as packet sniffers.
     • to prevent a passive attack you could implement a good network encryption

5. brute force attack

   • this is a type of attack used to gain information by cracking passwords through trial and error,they use automated software to produce hundreds of likely passwords
     • you need to have a good and strong password to prevent a brute force attack

   • ransomware is when your computer gets blocked until you pay a certain amount of money to the person who blocked it

    • spyware is when someone is watching what you are doing on you computer without you knowing
