Network Security Threats
DDOS
- A DDoS is a cyberattack on a server, service, website, or network floods it with Internet traffic. If the traffic overwhelms the target, its server, service, website, or network is rendered inoperable.
Phishing
- Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers
Computer Worm
- Worms can modify and delete files, and they can even inject additional malicious software onto a computer.
Spyware
- At its most damaging, spyware will track web browsing history and record words, passwords and other private information, such as credit card numbers or banking records. All of this information can be gathered and used for identity theft.
Brute Force Attack
- Unauthorised access to a network can be gained by using a computer program to try all possible password combinations until the correct password is found. This will give the hacker unauthorised access to the computer network.
Trojan Horse
- A Trojan horse, or Trojan, is a type of malicious code or software that looks legitimate but can take control of your computer.
