BASIC FACTS
Owner: Cassius Family. Popular and Powerful politics family.
Was known because of election slogans found on walls but also because of a named gold ring discovered on the skeleton of a woman in the tablinium.

At the time it was built, such and size and luxury would only be found in places with Hellenistic influence
House is made up of two parts: Private part for the family and the public part for public viewing and guests.
EVIDENCE OF WEALTHY FAMILY
Private baths were found within the house.
Uncommon within private places
Separate rooms for gardener, doorman and servants
Those of a lesser class would not need rooms such as vestibules, tablinia and large atria. All of these rooms were found in the house.

Was an ornamental house: designed to display wealth and influence
AESTHETICALLY PLEASING FEATURES
Bronze statue of the Faun in the impluvium. House got its name from this statue. It displayed the families wealth.
