Arithmetic Progression
Sequence:A group of numbers arranged in definite order is sequence
Progression: When members of series are in definite order we get progression.
- It follows a certain rule and has a specific formula to calculate the nth term.
Arithmetic Progression is a sequence in which each term is obtained by adding a first number to the proceed term.
- Each number of A.P which is in sequence is called a term of A.P .
- A.P having finite terms is called finite A.P .
- e.g. 2,4,6,8,...,18 is a finite A.P. with first term(a)=2 and common difference(d)=2
- A.P having finite terms is called finite A.P .
- Each number of A.P which is in sequence is called a term of A.P .
3 consecutive terms of an A.P.-(a-d),a,(a+d)
- 4 consecutive terms of an A.P. :(a-3d),(a-d),(a+d),(a+3d)
