1. Viruses

   • Types of a virus
     • Preventions
       • From e-mail: Do not trust anything associated with a spam e-mail. Approach e-mail from people you know with caution when the message contains links or attachments. If you are suspicious of what you are being asked to view or install, don't do it.
       • Trojan : The term Trojan virus is a bit of a misnomer, but it's commonly used instead of the more correct term, Trojan. A virus will infect regular computer files, taking over a specified file and corrupting it in the process. The virus will then attempt to propagate itself to other computers by infecting other files.
       • Worm
         • A computer worm is a standalone malware computer program that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers.
       • scareware
         • Scareware is a type of malware designed to trick victims into purchasing and downloading useless and potentially dangerous software. Scareware
       • Spyware
         • software that enables a user to obtain covert information about another's computer activities by transmitting data covertly from their hard drive.

   • A malware is a software which is specifically designed to disrupt or damage a computer system.

       • Phishing is the attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details

           • Communicate personal information only via phone or secure web sites

   • Data protection act
     • The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which defines UK law on the processing of data on identifiable living people
   • Computer misuse act
     • Unauthorised access with intent to commit or facilitate a crime
