        1. The electromagnetic spectrum
        2. Measurements and equations
          1. The wavelength is measured in metres (m)

              1. The frequency of a wave is the same as the pitch.
              2. Velocity/speed is measured in metres per second (m/s)
                1. The wave equation:
                  1. V = f x lambda

                              1. gamma rays
                                1. Kill cancer cells
                              2. How does our body detect waves?
                                1. Ears- detect sound:
                                  1. Sound travels using particles and these particles vibrate, which means that the ears vibrate and this vibrates the ear drums also. A signal is then sent to the brain, the brain then detects the sound and ultimately identifies it.
                                  2. Eyes detect light
                                    1. Detect light through their wavelength
                                    2. The body cannot detect radiowaves, microwaves etc.
                                    3. Different types of waves
                                      1. Transverse waves
                                        1. belong to the electromagnetic spectrum . All waves from the electromagnetic spectrum have both an electrical and a magnetic part.
                                          1. Osolation is 90* to the direction of travel
                                          2. Longitudinal waves
                                            1. (Sound) Osolation is in the same direction of travel as the direction it is travelling in
