FIRST CONDITIONAL

1. WHEN IS IT USED

   • It is used when a situation is real or possible

2. FIRST USE OF CONDITIONAL

   • This conditional is used to express a true and likely future outcome if a certain condition is met. In the above example, although the condition is written in the present tense is brought to assert condition in the future, and it is important to note that it is very likely that this condition is met as it is real, probably the sky was overcast and so this person said that if it rains in the near future, this person will stay home.

3. EXAMPLES

   • POSITIVE
     • -If I exercise, will lose weight -if it rains, I will stay at home -if it is warm, i will go to the beach
   • NEGATIVE
     • -If I do not finish my homework, I will not party --If I don´t have too much work, I’ll watch TV -If she doesn’t come, I won’t go anywhere
   • INTERROGATIVE
     • Will she pass the exam if she studies? -What will you do if you have free time? _
