1. Finding out about cancer

   • Baba's response: He was devastated when he found out he has cancer. He started to think about his life and what he has accomplished and what he has to do before he goes.
   • Outcomes: The news about cancer devastated everyone close to Baba. Soraya took care of Baba until his death

2. Amir marrying Soraya

   • Baba's response: Baba is definitely relieved when he heard that Amir will be marrying Soraya. Baba knows the girl personally and is happy that Amir will have someone by his side after Baba dies.
   • Outcomes: This made Amir happy, and also made Baba happy. The outcome is that Baba is relieved and this supports that he lived a happy life

3. Them moving to America

   • Baba's response: He has mixed emotions about this event. He feels sad and scared to ditch his comfortable life behind to start a new life in a new environment. But at the same time i think he is happy and optimistic to have his son Amir have new opportunities and leave the under developed country of Afghanistan.
   • Outcomes: The results of them moving to America is that Amir gets good college education. Also Baba has to endure working at a gas station in order to make money.

4. Amir winning the kite running competition

   • Baba's response: Baba is proud of his son for acheiving something he feels is honorable. Although Baba is ashamed of Amir and feels he is too weak, the kite running competition showed Baba that Amir does have some talent.
   • Outcome: Baba threw a party for Amir because of this. This shows how much Baba respected it because Baba won't even throw a party for Amir's birthday so this party means alot to Amir

5. Amir's graduation

   • Baba's response: This is another incident that made Baba happy. He is proud of his son for graduating high school
   • Outcome: Amir finishing high school gave him knowledge and incentive to move to America to study in college. This also makes Baba happy.
