1. Make an Emotional Connection with the Audience.

   • Every audience will form an instant opinion for or against the presenter the moment they see him.
   • In an exercise of reciprocity.
   • Presenting a big and authentic smile with a warm look toward the people in your audience

2. Present with Energy.

   • Capture the audience’s attention right away
     • dramatic story or a very interesting anecdote.
   • Audiences like to be able to relate to the presenter.

3. Spell Out the Payoff for the Audience.

   • If you’re presenting information, give lots of attention to describing its relevance and applicability.
   • So important in learning, you’ll want to use visuals.

4. Metrics.

   • Mnemonic devices are always useful so let’s create a formula
     • making an emotional connection by being likable and trustworthy
       • presenting with energy and spelling out the payoff are equally important.

5. ­Elements to Avoid

   • You don't know your topic
   • Slides are not your presentation
   • T.M.I. (Too Much Information).
     • Different animations on every slide.
   • Poorly designed presentation (or terrible template choice).
     • Too many slides
   • Electrifying color choices
   • Poor font choices
   • Irrelevant photos or graphs
   • Hardware/ Logistics malfunction
