   • Tribes of warriors with a similar language, religion and culture
     • Farmers who introduced the use of the iron plough in Britain

4. SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

   • Clan
     • More clans formed a tribe

5. RELIGION

   • They worshipped the natural elements, like the sun, the moon and water
     • They held religious rites in the woods

6. WOMEN

   • Almost equal to men
     • Boadicea: a famous warrior queen who fought against the Romans

7. LITERATURE

   • Oral literature
     • Poems and stories passed down through bards

8. BUILDINGS

   • They lived in timber huts with thatched roofs
   • They built hill forts: small ditches and banks surrounding hilltops
