1. Mean

   • Total of items/number of items
   • Mean is just the average, but it's mean 'cos you have to work it out
   • Example: -4-3-2+0+1+2+2+3+3+3+5+6+6+9 /14 =31/14 =2.21 (3 s.f.)

2. Mode

   • Most common
   • Most (emphasis the 'mo' in each when you say them)
   • Most common value is 3

3. Median

   • Middle value (when in order of size)
   • Mid (emphasise the m*d in each when you say them)
   • Rearrange them so, -4,-3,-2,0,1,2,2,3,3,3,5,6,6,9 Seven numbers at each side so that gets you to 2&3 Median=2.5

4. Range

   • The difference between highest and lowest
   • From -4 to 9 =9-(-4) =13
