1. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY KEY WORDS

   • Heterosexuality= To be attracted to someone of the opposite sex
     • Chastity= choosing not to have sex until you are married because you believe it should express total committment
     • Adultery= sex outside of marriage when at least one of the couple is married to someone else
   • Homosexuality= to be attracted to someone of the same sex
   • Celibacy= not having sex. A decisions to remain unmarried or refrain from having sex for religious reasons
   • Age of consent= The legal age for 2 adults to have sex. They both freely agree to have sex
   • Fidelity= people who get married take a vow to stay faithful
   • Human sexuality= how people express themselves as sexual beings
   • Commitment= agreeing to follow your word and stay committed to the promises you have made
   • Pre- marital sex= having sex with your partner before marriage
   • Contraception= the artificial and chemical methods used to prevent pregnancy takes place

   • Dignity= a sign of respect, self respect and regard for life

7. DO YOU THINK PEOPLE NOWADAYS ARE MORE LIKLEY TO HAVE PRE MARTIAL SEX

   • YES
     • More freedom. Legal access to abortion, peer pressure, temptation, availability of artificial contraception
   • NO
     • society would be more stable if sex occurred within marriages only

8. ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE

   • FOR
     • Many couples not married are still open to having children
     • If couples are in a relationship sex is an important part of their relationship
     • you must have sex before marriage to see if you and your partner are compatible
       • AGAINST
         • sex can be a complex issue and you can never be sure that you wont get hurt
           • catholic church- sex should only be with someone you are totally committed to
           • sex is a gift and our bodies should be treated with respect

9. ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST ADULTARY

   • FOR
     • If partner is unable to have physical relationship due to accident
     • if you have agreed to have an open relationship
     • paralysed- if partner can't be physical
   • AGAINST
     • the relationship should be open to having children
     • it breaks the commandment "Do not commit adultery"
     • threatens the stability of the marriage which is essential for the children so that they feel secure

10. HOMOSEXUALITY BIBLE QUOTES

    • "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman...those that do shall be put to death"
      • a sin, unnatural and forbidden in the bible, physical relationships should only be between a man and a woman
        • "no man is the have sexual relationships with another man, God hates that"
          • physical homosexual relationships are sinful, physical act God disagrees with
            • "God created Adam and Eve and said.. go forth and multiply"
              • homosexual relationships cannot produce children sex should be between a man and women who are married

11. ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY

    • FOR
      • CofE encourages gay and lesbian Christians who can't live celibate lives to be welcomed into the church
      • Jesus never spoke about homosexuality
      • God was pleased with his created "it was good" this includes homosexuality
    • AGAINST
      • Roman Catholics believe homosexuality is sinful
      • Sexuality is meant for procreation and within homosexuality this cannot happen
      • Homosexuality is a result of sin. goes against Gods plan in the bible and is forbidden in the bible. "no man is to have a sexual relationship with another man- God hates that"

12. Contraception= the artificial and chemical methods used to prevent pregnancy taking place

    • why do people use contraception?
      • having an affaire
      • stop passing on genetic dieseases
      • too young
      • prevent pregnancies

13. natural contraception= only form of conception promoted by Roman Catholic church. teaches these methods given by God to help a couple plan their family EG: rhythm method

    • Artificial contraception= form of contraception that act as a barrier to new life EG: condom- physical barrier preventing sperm to egg

14. CATJOLIC VIEWS ON CONTRACEPTION

    • support natural planning family
    • both men and women share the responsibility of planning their family
    • it is a good thing- it allows couples to plan their family

15. COFE VIEWS ON CONTRACEPTION

    • good for woman's health
    • can be better for a relationship
    • it is a good way for planning your family

16. CATHOLIC AND COFE VIEWS ON HOMOSEXUALITY

    • CATHOLIC
      • unnatural, goes against God's relationship, should treat people equally, no physical relationship
    • COFE
      • welcome people into the community, more accepting
