1. Simple Past

   • Indica ações que ocorreram no passado passado
     • Negative
       • Is formed by: subject + did + not + verb + complement
         • Ex: João didn't work today
     • Interrogative
       • Is formed by: did + subject + verb + complement
         • Ex: Did he wash his car last week?
     • Affirmative
       • Is formed by: subject + verb + -ed, -ied or -d + complement
         • Ex: She studied a lot on the weekend.

2. Past Continuous

   • Indica que algo estava em andamento no passado
     • Ex: They were listening to music very loud all night.
   • É usado para falar de quando uma ação foi interrompida por outra
     • Ex: She was running when the bus arrived.
   • É usado para falar de ações temporárias
     • Ex: Martha was going to work by bus last week.
   • Is formed by: verb + ing
