1. The purpose is to store the fuel and deliver a precise quantity, clean and at the correct pressure, to satisfy the demands of the engine.

   • By gravity
     • use in a large number of low-power aircraft
       • the simplicity and the regulation of operation
         • this system is not used in high-power aircraft
           • due to the structural arrangement and the highest pressure requirements.
   • By pressure
     • In aircraft where it is not possible to install the fuel tank
       • consist of pumps to maintain the pressure at the appropriate value for the correct operation
         • fuel pressure necessary for the proper operation of these units is relatively high
           • correct operation of the carburetor
