CONNECTING WITH THE AUDIENCE

1. RESPOND TO WHAT YOU SEE

   • Check if your audience is bored, or really engaged with the speaker

2. LOOK AT PEOPLE A BIT LONGER

   • Making eye contact could make contact, but not for too long since you will come out as weird.

3. SMILE AND HAVE FUN

   • Show your audience that you are friendly, so they can become more comfortable with you

4. BE PERSONAL

   • You want to link the presentation's topic to your character. Demonstrate the link between you and the information you're trying to get through.

5. REFER TO WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW

   • Talk about stuff that your audience can relate to, so they can feel validated and understand you.

6. WALK TOWARDS YOUR AUDIENCE

   • By physically approaching your listeners, you will help them feel more connected to you.

7. COMPLIMENT THE AUDIENCE

   • You can compliment the audience, like telling them they're smart, or the location. Anytime could work.

8. TELL A STORY

   • People enjoy story telling, people can understand of what you're presenting about by stories.
