Students directly inform the structure and learning atmosphere as members of the classroom community.
The learner makes his or her own discoveries.
Our society needs students to excel at high levels.
Students should always acknowledge that they are part of a learning community.
4 key principles of Student-centered learning (work together)
- 1. Learning happens when teachers know students while meeting their development.
- 2. Learning is based on competence because the learner masters what is learned.
- 3. Learning occurs anytime and anywhere, because learning does not only occur in the classroom, but also in everyday life.
- 4. Students take ownership of the situation as they directly participate in their own success.
