EV3 Problem
Sensors
- Colour Sensor
- The colour sensor can be used to detect colours and help the robot follow the path as a pct value
- Ultrasonic
- The ultrasonic sensor can be used to determine the distance of a object from the robot
- The ultrasonic sensor can be used to determine the distance of a object from the robot
- Touch
- The touch sensor can be used to determine if there is a object heavy enough to depress the button (touch sensor)
- Colour Sensor
Constraints
- The map
- The map has a fixed orientation
- Certain codes may only work when the robot is released from a specific starting location, and does not work when released from the other starting location
- The map has a fixed orientation
- Position of the colour sensor
- The position of the colour sensor is always on one side of the robot
- The robot will always turn unevenly to one side depending on which side the colour sensor is on, making it necessary for the robot to have more power on one side
- The position of the colour sensor is always on one side of the robot
- EV3 Robots
- All EV3 Robots have different motor settings
- The code needs to be adjusted every time a new robot is used as the motors will have different variables
- All EV3 Robots have different motor settings
- Time limitation of 4 weeks
- May have a shortage of time, therefore making chode less efficient
- Personal
- Stduents
- Preoccupied with other tasks in daily life
- Part time jobs
- Other subjects
- Extra-curricular activities
- Hobbies
- Lack of experience in coding

Prescribed Criteria
- PC1 - follow the line
- Requirements
- Robot can follow the line
- Robot can turn right
- Robot can turn left
- Requirements
- PC2 - detect and navigate around immoveable objects
- Requirements
- Robot can detect that the object is immoveable
- Robot detects that the object is in close enough proximity
- Robot can turn right
- Robot can turn left
- Robot can navigate around the immoveable object
- Robot can detect that the object is immoveable
- Requirements
- PC3 - Detect and clear the moveable object from the path
- Requirements
- Robot can turn left
- Robot can turn right
- Robot can detect that the object is moveable
- Robot can clear the object from the path
- Requirements
- PC1 - follow the line
Self - Determined Criteria
- Make the robot make celebratory noise at the end of the path
- Requirements
- Robot can make celebratory sound
- Robot can determine that the end of the path has been reached
- Use colour sensor (pct value) to determine that colour has changed to green, therefore the end of the path has been reached
- Requirements
- Make robot do a light display at the end of the path
- Requirements
- Robot can do a light display
- Robot can determine when the end of the path has been reached
- Use colour sensor (pct value) to determine that colour has changed to green, therefore the end of the path has been reached
- Requirements
- Make the robot dance at the end of the path
- Requirements
- Robot can dance using necessary motors
- Robot can determine when the end of the path has been reached
- Use colour sensor (pct value) to determine that colour has changed to green, therefore the end of the path has been reached
- Requirements
- Make the robot make celebratory noise at the end of the path

Ideation
- Replace the moveable object with lighter boxes
- It is easier to code
- Only need to use the front motors of the arms to push the lighter objects out of the path, instead of detecting that the object is immoveable with touch sensor
- It is easier to code
- Apply more power on the side of the robot without the colour sensor
- This can allows the robot to make sharper turns depending on where the colour sensor is and be more smooth
- Replace the moveable object with lighter boxes
