1. Astronomers need to work together

   • Whether its in building a new telescope or sending people into space. Many science projects are too expensive for one country to do alone. The ISS is a prokect led by the US with the help of 15 other countries

2. Observatory locations are chosen for astronomical reasons

   • Optical telescopes are put in remote locations to acoid man made liht pollution as well as dust and other particles affecting observations
   • Astronomers want as little tmosphere between the observatory and telescope as possible to minimise the distoring and blurring so they are built on high eleveation
   • Dry areas are chosem so that water in he atmosphere doesnt blur the image

3. Other Factors need to be taken into account

   • COST, ACCESS (how easy it is to get there) ENVIRONMENT, SOCIAL
