DEFINITIONS
MODELS
DEPLOYMENT MODELS
Cloud Computing is one of computing-structure and software model that can be access to share configurable resources
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Security as a Service (SECaaS)
Mobile "backend" as a service (MBaaS)
Serverless Computing
Providers use virtual machine to serve their subscriber from their cloud (Hypervisor)
Example : Oracle VirtualBox, Oracle VM, KVM, VMware
This infrastructure would let the cloud user patches and maintains the operating systems and the application software.
Usually the provider offer a development environment to application developers
Example : Microsoft Azure and Google App Engine
Including operating system, programming-language execution environment, database, and web server
Users gain access to application software and databases. Also known as "on-demand software"
User can't manage the cloud infrastructure on the application. So it defy the need to install and run the application on the cloud user's own computers.
PROS AND CONS
PROS: Doesn't need maintenance and support
CONS: it might get overpopulated
The providers integrates their security services into a corporate infrastructure on a subscription basis more cost effectively than most individuals or corporations can provide on their own
So the security is served through cloud computing
Web app and mobile app developers are provided with a way to link their applications to cloud storage and cloud computing services with APIs exposed to their applications and custom SDKs.
Type of services provided such as user management, push notifications, integration with social networking services and more
cloud provider fully manages starting and stopping virtual machines as necessary to serve requests
The payment method doesn't abide to per virtual machine, per hour.
Private Cloud
Public Cloud
Hybrid Cloud
Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization
It could be run by third-party either internally or externally
The services are rendered over a network that is open for public use
It could* be free
Public cloud service providers operate the infrastructure at their data center and access is generally via the Internet
May use more than 2 types of deployment either private, community or public
The adoption depends to the data security and compliance requirements, level of control needed over data, and the applications an organization uses.
There's specialized model of hybrid cloud, which is built up to odd hardware
Cross-platform Hybrid Cloud
