If the forces on an object are balanced, they are either not moving, or are moving at a constant speed.

For example, if someone is standing still, it means that their gravity and the reaction force from the ground are balanced, so  the person is not being pulled into the ground or flying into space.

Also, if someone is riding a bike, and they are going at a constant speed (not accelerating or decelerating), that means that both the friction and the person's driving force are balanced.

Unbalanced forces can change the motion of an object.

An object's speed can only change if its force is not equal to other forces going against it.

When a pushing force is stronger than the backwards force, the object goes faster.

When a backwards force is stronger than the pushing force, the object goes slower.

OBJECTS WILL CONTINUE TO TRAVEL IN THE SAME DIRECTION WITH THE SAME SPEED UNLESS AN UNBALANCED FORCE ACTS ON THEM.
