Human activity is one of the main causes of pollution. Technological development has made important strides in improving the quality of life, but it has also had a significant negative impact on the environment.

Deforestation or indiscriminate felling of trees has reduced the forests and jungles of the Earth by significant percentages, including the extinction of several of these natural spaces.

The agricultural sector is one of those that makes the greatest use of chemicals and pesticides, and this has to do with the cultivation and care methods involved in the activities of this sector. It is true that farmers must make use of such products in order to protect fruit and vegetable crops, however, they are highly polluting and affect soils and water. Likewise, livestock generates a significant amount of gases that increase the greenhouse effect and damage the ozone layer.

Industrial activities produce a large amount of toxic waste for the environment such as gases, chemicals, solvents, among others. Many of these wastes are directly and illegally expelled into the water or air, polluting them and causing great environmental damage. The same occurs with a significant amount of household products such as detergents, solvents or oils, highly polluting products. Fossil fuels are a major pollution factor. From extraction methods to refinement and use, they negatively impact the environment. Among the resources most exploited in nature to generate fuels are oil, natural gas and coal, which are highly polluting. At present, various technologies have been developed in order to reduce the use of these fuels, especially in the automotive area, where it has already introduced electric and hybrid vehicles to the market.

Currently the rates of garbage production are very high and the majority derives from the indiscriminate use of plastic, as well as other products that are not biodegradable. To reduce its effect, it is recommended to select the garbage by type of material (glass, plastic, aluminum, cardboard or paper), in order to be able to treat it or reuse it through recycling processes.

Environmental problems affect practically all the elements of nature: water, soil, vegetation cover, animals and climate. An environmental problem is any alteration that causes imbalance in a given environment, negatively affecting it.

Industry and marketing strategies have accustomed us to buying and throwing away and then buying again, without calculating the enormous impact that this generates on the environment. As much as you can, reuse those things that you would normally throw away.

One way to reduce environmental pollution is to help in the recycling process.

Start by cleaning the air in your home. Fill your house with plants that purify the environment, both indoors and outdoors. And when you can, actively participate in reforestation campaigns. Also, protect and take care of the green environment around you. Do not make bonfires in the mountains, do not cut pine trees in the forests, and do not consent to practices that destroy or alter vegetation.

Renewable energies are those that are obtained from inexhaustible natural sources and generate electricity without contributing to global warming.
