Is a polar molecule. One end of the molecule +ve and one end -ve. - 2Water as a solventDue to this polarity, other polar molecules dissolve in water. More molecules dissolve in water compared to any other liquid, thus it is Universal Solvent.
- 3Hydrogen BondsBecuase water is dipole (-ve and +ve ends), the positive end of one water molecule is attracted towards the -ve end of another molecule causing them to stick together. this property is called cohesion.

.Condensation reactions and respiration produce water - 5Water as a solidWhen water freezes it becomes less dense. it has the same mass but it takes up a bigger volume because the water molecules form a crystalline structure. This is why ice floats on water.
