The ( Nucleolus, Nucleus, DNA ) is the ‘brain’ of a cell. This is surrounded by the ( Nucleus, Nucleolus, Nuclear Envelope ), which in turn is surrounded by the ( Nuclear Envelope, Rough ER, Nucleus ). The cisternae of the ( Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum ) transport substances from one area of a cell to another. This organelle also contains many ( ribosomes, lysosomes, mitochondria ) which synthesise proteins from ( mRNA, DNA, Mitochondrial DNA ). The ( Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi Apparatus ) contains enzymes which catalyse reactions involved with lipid metabolism. The ( Golgi Apparatus, Smooth ER, Cytoskeleton ) modifies and packages substances into vesicles. ( Lysosomes, Ribosomes ) are full of hydrolytic enzymes which are used for the digestion of substances. ( Mitochondria, Mitochondrions, Vesicles ) produce ATP during ( aerobic respiration, Anaerobic Respiration ). They are thought to have been a foreign organism which was consumed by another single celled organism and underwent ( symbiosis, biosis, dibiosis ). ( An undulipodium, A tail, Cillia ) enables a cell to move (although the only human cell to have one is a spermatozoon) and ( cilia, Ciliums, Hairs ) can push substances past a cell. Both these structures contain ( cytoskeletons, muscles, microfibrils ) which allow them to move. ( Vacuoles, Leaves, Green Pigments ) are found in most plant cells. They are surrounded by membranes called ( tonoplasts, tonioplasts ). ( Chloroplasts, Cytoskeletons, Cell walls ) are also in plant cells. They are the site of ( photosynthesis, anaerobic respiration )
