Hazel Bishop

1. Founder of the cosmetics company, Hazel Bishop, Inc.

   • Sold Complexion Glow (liquid-crème rouge) and Long-Lasting Nail Polish in addition to the lipsticks
     • Also included foundations, face powder, hairspray, deodorant, eye make-up and perfume

2. Inventor of the first long-lasting lipstick; called it “No-Smear Lipstick”

   • Used bromo acid dyes for the lasting effect
     • Offset some of the typical dryness with lanolin
       • Also known as "Lasting Lipstick" when the FDA curtailed the unrestricted use of the term No-Smear Lipstick

3. She was also consultant to the National Association of Leather Glove Manufacturers and developed “Leather Lav,” a leather glove cleaner

   • She later founded H.B. Laboratories, Inc. to produce additional leather products

4. She also developed a foot care product and solid perfume stick (Perfemme)
