13Choose the answer which answers the following question the best-
Describe using distinctly different examples, two of the costs involved in getting good quality information.- AOne of the costs of obtaining good quality data is data collection. This is because the information is never free as there is always an associated cost of collecting it in the 1st place. Usually information provided by a system will reduce costs, eliminate losses, reduce wastage, use resources more effectively and provide a better management program. It is can be collected directly or indirectly. Direct data is where the information is collected by the company. Indirect data collection is where information is collected by a 3rd party and not the organisation.
Another cost of obtaining good quality data is with processing maintenance. Once the data has been collected and put into an ICT system, it has to be processed. There are many maintenance activities that must be performed. These include, keeping data in the database or other system up-to-date, taking backup copies of data for security purpose, small changes to structure of the program or database so that the relevant processing can occur. - BA cost of obtaining good quality data is data collection.
