• Critical Appreciation = The evaluation of a dance based on knowledge and understanding of insights

Lighting

• Lighting is the illumination of the performance area
• Lighting can be a very important feature of dance. Lights can:
• be used to flood the stage with colour
• be used to create shadow effects on the floor
• highlight key moments or climaxes in a dance
• act as a symbol
• be in different positions, placement, direction, and intensity
• Visual = relating to light
• Projection = projected images (can help the audience to understand the choreographer's idea or intention

Staging/Set

• Staging = the presentation of a dance in the performing
