Chemical Symbols

• The Chemical Symbols is based of abbreviations for the names of the elements . That abbreviations are called ''Chemical Symbols''.
• The simplest way to abbreviate is to use the first letter of the name of the element as its symbol.
• 

Metallic Character

• Metallic character is the name given to the set of chemical properties associated with elements that are metals.
• The periodic table shows metallic elements in yellow. as you can see, most elements are metals. metals are silver-gray in color, with the exceptions of copper and gold.
• All metals are solids at room temperature, except for mercury, which is a liquid.metals reflect light when they are polished, can be bent or hammered flat and generally have high melting points.
• 

Metals

• They are solid (with the exception of mercury, Hg, a liquid).
• They are shiny, good conductors of electricity and heat.
• They are ductile (they can be drawn into thin wires).
• They are malleable (they can be easily hammered into very thin sheets).
• All these metals tend to lose electrons easily. The following figure shows the metals.

Noble Gases

• Noble gas, any of the seven chemical elements of the periodic table. The elements are helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), radon (Rn), and oganesson (Og). The noble gases are colourless, odourless, tasteless, nonflammable gases. They traditionally have been labeled Group 0 in the periodic table because for decades after their discovery it was believed that they could not bond to other atoms; that is, that their atoms could not combine with those of other elements to form chemical compounds. Their electronic structures and the finding that some of them do indeed form compounds has led to the more appropriate designation,

• Nonmetals have properties opposite those of the metals.
• The nonmetals are brittle, not malleable or ductile, poor conductors of both heat and electricity, and tend to gain electrons in chemical reactions. Some nonmetals are liquids.
