Braille Printer - 2Name 3 input devices to help disabled students?Puff-Suck Switch
Voice Control
Foot Mouse
Eye Tracker
Braille Keyboards - 3What is computer system?A collection of hardware and software working together to achieve a set task
- 4What is an input and output device?Used to enter data into a computer
Used to show results of data that been processed by computer - 5What is a peripheral? Is any hardware devices which connects to a computer and is controlled by the CPU
- 6What is clock speed?Processor sped measured in GHz billions of cycles per second so amount of fetch-execute cycles
- 7What is cache memory?Block of high speed memory and found in the CPU. Data transferred there to make faster it faster to react quicker for next task.
- 8What are multiple cores?Means if it's dual-core it can work 2 processors at the same time
- 9What is Ram?Random Access Memory as is volatile and stores windows that are currently open
- 10Why is upgrading Ram a good idea?Adds more RAM as will improve performance as it's faster so doesn't need as much virtual memory
- 11What is ROM?Read only memory as it stores BIOS as it's non-volatile but cannot be easily changes
- 12What is bootstrap loader?Contains the computers operating system as it loads it up when turned on
- 13What is virtual memory? If computer doesn't have enough Ram it uses up part of the hard drive. It's reserved as some applications move over however this is a lot slower
- 14What are the three types of secondary storage?Magnetic Storage
Optical Storage
Solid State Storage
