- 2what type of memory is semantic memory?1.semantic memory is a type of long term memory
2.semantic memory is known as the memory for facts

semantic- facts- we all share
episodic- personal- mental time travel/ specific - 4define semantic conceptssemantic concepts are mental representations of things for example general could be living things, more specific could be mammal
- 5what is the hierarchical network model by Collins and Quillian in 19691. first models of semantic memory
2. semantic models- trying to understand how semantic memory is organised
3. they suggested that items stored in our semantic memory all have links to form a big network.
4. argued that general categories like animal are divided into more general categories like bird and fish and then more specific categories like canary or salmon.
things that are related more to eachother for example canary and yellow will be reported more quickly compared to things that are on different levels of the hierarchical model and are less related will be slower to report for example canary has skin.
5. in summary, you are quicker to remember those things that are most linked to that category - 6what are the negatives of the model by Collins and Quillian 1969ccc
- 7what is priming?1. an example of priming is remembering words that were not actually seen.
2. it is where the presence of something triggers the recall of something else - 8what is the network model by Collins and loftus 1975 called the spreading activation network
