- 1Network SwitchA switch is used to direct incoming and outgoing data transmissions between computing devices and the cloud.
- 2RouterA router is used to accept incoming and outgoing data from computers and the cloud. The router acts a gateway for which data enters and exits. A router can block data if its malicious.
- 3Wireless routerA wireless router is used only for portable devices that rely in WiFi connections to receive and send data from computing devices and the cloud.
- 4Fiber opticA fiber optic cable is 5 glass coated lines that carry light. Light is used to send data from one location to another. A typical fiber optic cable can send up to 1 gigabit of data per second.
- 5coaxial cableA coaxial cable contains small copper wires that carry data through electrical current. these are much smaller compared to fiber optic as the data diminishes during data transfer.
- 6Twisted coaxial cableA twisted coaxial cable has electrical signal communication through wires. This is not energy efficient. these cables are less effected by external magnetic interference and has medium band width
