  1. 1What is a generalized motor program. The general motor program which is stored as an open loop action meaning we can change it depending on the situation. e.g we can catch a tennis ball and basket ball with the same generalized motor program.
  2. 2Give four things that never change within a motor program and two things that can change.Invariant characteristics of a motor program are; relative duration, relative force, order of events, muscles used. The characteristics which may change are; Overall duration and Overall Force.
  3. 3Draw a graph to show the effects of cerebral learning and no cerebral learning.Draw a graph to show the effects of cerebral learning and no cerebral learning.
  4. 4When we make an action what two basic things do we do?Decide what our goal or intention is, then guide our actions to achieve this goal.
  5. 5—
  6. 6What did Woodworths (1899) study into visual feedback do? What did it find?Tested the effects of making movements with and without visual feedback. He found that for very short actions we don't need or cant use visual feedback to help the outcome of the action because we don't have time to process the information before it is too late. He also found that giving visual feedback for longer movements improved performance.
  7. 7—
  8. 8Give the two areas of potential error in a movement. Give approximate times before each error is corrected.Incorrect motor program selection (120-200ms), Incorrect motor program execution (30-50ms).
