- 15.3Sound Energy
- 2what is sound energy?sound is a type of energy produced by vibration.
- 3what is a Mexican wave?An effect resembling a moving wave produced by successive sections of the crowd in a stadium standing up, raising their arms, lowering them, and sitting down again.
- 4Answer for the previous questionAn effect resembling a moving wave produced by successive sections of the crowd in a stadium standing up, raising their arms, lowering them, and sitting down again.
- 5Does vibrating energy have kinetic energy?
- 6What is an echo?when a sound hits a flat surface and reflects, then you hear en echo
- 7what is the science of sound called?acoustics
- 8what is frequency?the rate per second of a vibration constituting a wave
- 9what is wavelength? The length of one wave is called wavelength.
- 10what is pitch?the quality of a sound governed by the rate of vibrations producing it; the degree of highness or lowness of a tone.
- 11what is loudness? The amplitude of a sound wave determines its loudness or volume. A larger amplitude means a louder sound, and a smaller amplitude means a softer sound.
- 12what is loudness measured in?A unit called Decibel (dB)
- 13what unit is used to measure frequency?????????????????hErTz (Hz)
- 14what unit is used to measure wavelength ?Metres
- 15what happens if you listen to music in high volume?Loud music played on earphones causes hearing loss by having a similar effect on nerves as multiple sclerosis, research finds. The research shows that noise levels above 110 decibels strip insulation from nerve fibers carrying signals from the ear to the brain. Loss of the protective coating, called myelin, disrupts electrical nerve signals.
