RAM,ROM and Virtual Memory(VM)
RAM, ROM and VM are all types of storage found inside of a computer.
RAM and VM are both Volatile types of storage whereas ROM is not.
VM is just an extension of RAM and works in exactly the same way as RAM.
VM is stored on the Hard Drive by using a Page File.
ROM is the part of the computer that stores the boot up program.
The RAMs purpose is to store temporary Information/Instructions that are sent to the CPU to the decoded and executed.
The ROM is generally found on a hard wired chip on the motherboard.
The RAM is volatile. This means that any information stored on the RAM when it is turned off or interrupted will be erased unless it is saved.
RAM is memory used by the programs that are running. The programs use memory to store info required to run the software.
The BIOS is an example of a RAM chip that holds the instructions of how to boot up the computer system and in what order.
