QUANTITATIVE QUALITY TOOLS

QUANTITATIVE QUALITY TOOLS

1. Control Charts

   • identifies the variables of the data
     • Diagnosis
       • Evaluate the stability of a process
     • Control
       • Determines when it is necessary to adjust a process

2. Pareto chart

   • Set priorities when it comes to acting or where to start
     • Benefits
       • Channels the efforts towards the "vital few"
       • It helps to prioritize and to point out the importance of each of the areas of opportunity
       • It allows the comparison between before and after, helping to quantify the impact of the actions taken to achieve improvements.
       • Promotes teamwork since it requires the participation of all individuals related to the area to analyze the problem, obtain Information and carry out actions for its solution.

3. Histogram

   • Displays trend accumulation, variability, and scatter of data
     • types
       • single bars
       • compound bars

4. Dispersion diagram

   • It describes the behavior of two variables in the point cloud, where each is represented as a point in the plane defined by the variables
     • Diagram where there is no correlation
     • Diagram showing high positive correlation. X and Y increase proportionally.
     • Correlation low positive, the value of X increases slightly as the value of Y increases
     • Strong negative correlation. When X decreases Y increases
     • Weak negative correlation. The value of X decreases slightly as the value of Y increases
     • Complex relationship. The data of X and Y appear to be related
