   • Dimensional modeling always uses the concepts of facts (measures) and dimensions (context).

2. It's considered to be different from the entity-relationship model.

3. Dimensional modeling is a database design technique designed to support end-user queries in a data warehouse.

   • It is oriented around comprehensibility and performance

4. This asset is almost always kept by an organization in two forms: the operational systems of record and the data warehouse.

   • Crudely speaking, the operational systems are where the data is put in, and the data warehouse is where we get the data out.
     • The users of an operational system turn the wheels of the organization.
