Decimal Numbers

1. Digits can be placed to the left and right of a decimal point

2. As we move right from the decimal point, each number place is divided by 10

3. Decimals show numbers that are in between two whole numbers

4. Decimals can be added and subtracted like whole numbers

5. They can be converted to and from percentages and to and from fractions,

6. Example: 5.25 is in between the numbers 5 and 6. (It is more than 5 but less than 6)

7. 0.875 + 1.226 = 2.101
