1. embedded systems

   • Microwave -timer
   • Digital watch-timer
   • An embedded system is a small computer used in things like a microwave.
   • Washing machine -timer
   • Alarm clock-timer
   • Dishwasher-timer
   • a system usually designed for one specific job
   • usually in a bigger object

2. von Neumann

   • MAR-memory address register this MAR is a small register that holds the address of that instruction.it will start from the first address in RAM
   • control unit-cu tells other parts of the CPU what to do(big boss)
   • RAM-Stores instructions and data that will be used by the CPU
   • MDR-memory data register this MDR is a small register that holds the current data/instruction that is being decoded.
   • arithmetic and logic unit-: it is the part that performs the calculations (maths genius)
   • accumulator-it is a small amount of memory to remember the answers from previous calculations if they need to be used in the future

3. fetch decode execute cycle

   • 2-The instruction is then decoded and finally executed. Both these actions take place with the CPU.
   • 3-Once the first fetch cycle is complete, the CPU will fetch the next instruction.
   • 1-The first instruction in the program is loaded from main memory into the CPU (it is fetched)

4. computer components

   • Secondary storage –Secondary memory is computer memory that is non-volatile and persistent in nature and is not directly accessed by a computer/processor. It allows a user to store data that may be instantly and easily retrieved, transported and used by applications and services
   • Network card –this enables you to access the internet
   • Cpu-this is where everything I processed
   • Memory-stores data from programs currently running
   • Gpu- this processes information and enables more frames per second
   • Motherboard –the motherboard allows things to be connected to each other
