1. Visual Basic is a programming language and development environment created by Microsoft. It is an extension of the BASIC programming language that combines BASIC functions and commands with visual controls. Christensson, P. (2007, November 5).

   • Visual Basic, also referred to as "VB," is designed to make software development easy and efficient, while still being powerful enough to create advanced programs.

2. Forms.

   • Forms allow the Visual Basic developer to create windows and layout controls (such as buttons, labels etc) in those forms to provide the application's user interface. ("Visual Basic and Forms - Techotopia", 2019)
     • Forms essentially provide the windows that make up a Windows application.

3. Toolbox.

   • Displays the standard Visual Basic controls plus any ActiveX controls and insertable objects that you have added to your project. You can customize the Toolbox by adding pages to it or by adding controls by using the Additional Controls command from the Tools menu. When you add a page, a Select Objects tool is always available on the page. (Toolbox, 2019)

4. Visual Basic Objects

   • Forms are objects, as are the controls you place on a form. All objects have attributes (called properties), most have methods, and many have events. An object is a programming construct that encapsulates data and functionality in a single package, and which may only be accessed through interface elements (properties, methods and events) that are explicitly declared to be public.
   • Each type of object has a specific set of properties which can be examined by a program, and in many cases modified to change the state of the object. (Wells, 2019)

5. control structures.

   • Control structures allow you to regulate the flow of your program's execution. Using control structures, you can write Visual Basic code that makes decisions or that repeats actions. Other control structures let you guarantee disposal of a resource or run a series of statements on the same object reference.

6. Data types.

   • The data type of a programming element refers to what kind of data it can hold and how it stores that data. Data types apply to all values that can be stored in computer memory or participate in the evaluation of an expression. Every variable, literal, constant, enumeration, property, procedure parameter, procedure argument, and procedure return value has a data type. (Control Flow in Visual Basic., 2019).

7. VBA

   • The Office suite of applications has a rich set of features. There are many different ways to author, format, and manipulate documents, email, databases, forms, spreadsheets, and presentations. The great power of VBA programming in Office is that nearly every operation that you can perform with a mouse, keyboard, or a dialog box can also be done by using VBA. Further, if it can be done once with VBA, it can be done just as easily a hundred times. (In fact, the automation of repetitive tasks is one of the most common uses of VBA in Office.)
