1. An IDE is integrated development environment, which is a piece of software that provides features to help a programmer to develop their program

2. the code editor is the main part of an IDE, this is were the code is written

   • most code editors will have a line numbering and auto-colour coding for things like string, functions, loops,variblrs and comments.
   • coders will also have other automatic featutures like auto-correct, auto-indentation and auto-complete

3. a run-time enviroment allows the code to be run quickely within the IDE, this is done using a start or run button. the run-time enviroment can also help identify logic errors in the program as the programmer can see which part of the code is running when errors occur
